Literary Bio
Robert Sinclair (born December 27, 1967 in Austin, Texas) is an American novelist and lawyer. Sinclair graduated from Trinity University, earned a Juris Doctor and Masters of Business Administration from Pepperdine University. He began his legal career working with banks in the Cayman Islands, Malta, Panama, and Switzerland where he practiced international tax planning for high-net-worth individuals. Subsequently, he worked with international banks assisting them to develop anti-financial crime programs designed to identify and eliminate criminal elements from the finance and banking industries. It was his experience working in the shadows of private banking and international financial crime that inspired his interest in writing, as well as his early works.
Sinclair’s first novel, Blind Trust, is inspired by true events and recounts the story of Ashton Fox, a U.S. Department of Justice Attorney, who transitions into private practice as a partner at the prestigious firm Chamberlain & Frost. He is seconded as the acting General Counsel for a multinational financial institution based in Mexico City. Even before he arrives in Mexico, Ash’s world is turned on it head when he receives secretive emails advising him to beware…nothing is as it appears. As Ash’s situation in Mexico grows ever more precarious, he finds himself in a position where his only ally is his long-time nemesis at the DOJ - Cambridge-educated Rafael Ochoa - the Godfather of international narcotics trafficking.
Robert lives in New York with his wife, Maria, and his two Pomeranians, Sofia and Sienna.
